Untitled 909 Podcast 154: R.E.D – Floorless Festival Takeover

For the penultimate mix in the Floorless Festival takeover we have Welsh native and Red Waxxx label head R.E.D taking the reigns with a cathartic session that channels emotional moments of tension and patience expressed by weaving through different textures and energies with tracks from Puce Mary, Scotch Reflex and Shackleton, Kincaid, LOIF, Sansibar, No Sir and more.

Speaking about the mix, R.E.D says, “spanning through a whole load of genres for this 1 hour 20 minute journey. I think without realising this turned into a bit of an outlet for emotion, there’s a lot of tension and building moments but also with a lot of deep breathe moments and patience. Perhaps it’s a reflection of how I’ve been feeling the last few months, it feels good to put this somewhere. So proud of this one, I hope you enjoy it 🤍”

R.E.D has previously delivered memorable and diverse sets at UNFOLD, Creatures and fabric with her affinity for the mystical and mind-boggling capturing the dancefloors. You can have a dig through her previous mix contributions for acclaimed platforms Balamii, The Lot Radio and Cozi.

Taking place from the 4th – 6th August, Floorless Festival was a natural response to those lonely months brought on by the pandemic. The Floorless brand originally started as a series of club shows run by a group of friends who are DJs, promoters, producers and music lovers and have since hosted parties at venues such as Corsica Studios, The Glove That Fits, Venue MOT and The Carpet Shop. Over the years it has grown into an event with a real community spirit, seeing the same faces on the dance floor of every event. This extends into the festival where the music policy represents a breadth of UK clubland with a focus on local talent; last year’s festival line-up included the likes of Mi-el, Allecto, Alicia, EMA, Melati, Manami, FAFF and more.
