Gone Baby Records returns with a new release from South Texan duo Nudo who, in just under 30 minutes, aim to evoke a kind of reverence for the ghostly grandeur of rural and agricultural hubs along the Texan border. The release was recorded across South and Central Texas over the better part of a year. On ‘Acequia’, the nearly 5 minute sprawling sound collage echoes isolation, soundtracking a desolate area which drifts in and out of company. Driven by a subdued piano melody, ‘Acequia’ feels almost haunted by the business of vocal samples and moody synths that scatter in and out of hearing.
