Launched last month, NEA$ is a new platform founded by The Baker and Mauricio Atencia in Colombia. With the aim of documenting the flourishing local scenes and bringing it to an international audience, the first release is from the co-founder himself The Baker and DJ Pai who is from Envigado, Antioquia. With both artists contributing two tracks each to the debut split EP, ‘Puñalada Trapera’, DJ Pai takes the music of Valle de Aburrá and puts his own twist on it with a fusion of reggaeton and trap. On the flip side, The Baker, who is most known for his releases on Insurgentes and Always Human Tapes, draws from breaks, reggae and jungle to create two very deep, meditative cuts.
